Sight Seeing

The Aspen and Snowmass areas are world renown for all types of outdoor activities and sightseeing. Activities range from Arts and Cultural, Bicycle Tours and Rentals, Hiking, Horseback Riding, Hot Air Balloon Rides, Ice Skating, Jeep Tours, Concierge Services, Cross-Country Skiing, Dogsled Rides, Fly Fishing, Kayaking, Paragliding, River Rafting, Rodeos, Sleigh Rides, Snowmobiling, Snowshoe Tours, Golf and Swimming. It is important to remember when you go out doors to bring adequate equipment.

Aspen and Snowmass Village are at about 8,000 feet in elevation. At these altitudes the ultraviolet rays are more intense and proper sunscreen should be applied at least every four hours. Proper sunglasses with UV protection are also necessary to protect the eyes from sunburn.

Altitude sickness at these elevations can cause nausea, insomnia, diarrhea, constipation, restlessness, shortness of breath, fast heartbeat, headache, nasal congestion, cough, and fatigue. It is important to be aware of these symptoms and drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol, caffeine and salty foods. Give yourself one day to acclimate to the altitude and then have a great time seeing the sites.
