The Aspen Airport is Open - Airspace Impacted by Local Fire - Flights Affected

The Aspen Airport is open even though there is an FAA mandated Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) in effect due to a large wildfire in the area. The TFR is in effect daily from 9 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. resulting in all airline flights during this time to be either diverted or canceled. Corporate aviation is less affected, with the majority of operations occurring during the TFR 9 am to 9:15 pm period. Airlines are operating from 7 am to 845am daily and after 9:15 pm daily. Please contact your carrier provider before coming to the airport for details on your specific flight. We anticipate this level of impact to flights for 2 to 3 more days as the TFR shrinks. Aspen Airport will provide daily updates on Twitter, Facebook, and the airport web page. Thank you for your understanding during the wildfire. Fire crews are working around the clock to contain the blaze. Hundreds of families have been evacuated from their homes in the mid-valley. Please join us in sending positive thoughts for a safe outcome.
